Mid-Century Vintage Ink Abstract Village Drawing with Custom Mat, Signed by E. Righetti

Mid-Century Vintage Ink Abstract Village Drawing with Custom Mat, Signed by E. Righetti

This dynamic figural abstraction is by Mid-Century artist Tomas Fernandez Concepcion (1933-2012). A Filipino artist and former revolutionary (even served a term in the House of Representatives), Concepcion is widely collected and best known for his figural and portrait sculptures, including a commission of the Pope. After leaving art school in his early years, he spent time in Paris as a street painter, and later moved on to Rome where was very active in the social and art circles of the city. I can provide more information if you are interested, just send a message.

The artist has signed the bottom left of this work "E. Righetti" with a side note of "Espagne" ("Spain" in translation). The bottom right is signed, but despite research, I cannot decipher or locate any connections - I hope you can!

This piece comes ready-to-frame with a custom 3" acid-free archival mat and acid-free foamcore backing.
