Saozi Curated Collection of Vintage European Mid Century Modern Pencil Drawings on Paper, Mid 1960's
This exquisite and dynamic abstract mixed media series by European artist Lucy Adamczyk (went by the name Saozi) created between the mid-1960s and early 1970s, captures the essence of mid-century artistic exploration. Though little is known about the artist, this beautiful drawing is a classic example of Mid-Century modern Abstraction. The broken space, bold lines, vibrant geometrics and repetitious motifs are abstraction at its purest. These pieces stand as a testament to Adamczyk's ability to channel the innovative spirit of Abstraction in the manner of such artists as Josef Albers.
Abstract Art is any form of art that does not represent reality convincingly, but instead distorts it. In this movement, artists began with a known visible object and abstracted it to produce a more simplified form. Pioneers of the Abstract Art movement include Kandinsky, Malevich and Mondrian.
These works are in very good condition with little signs of wear other than is usual for a vintage artwork of this period. Notably, is the artists signature on the drawings.
All artwork comes professionally framed in a classic gallery style moulding, with a 4" archival, acid-free mat and Acrylite Conservation Glazing, filtering out 99% of harmful UV light. The frame is available in 4 finishes upon checkout, with additional mat and frame options available upon request.
